Over the Easter break, 38 students visited Valencia with the PE Department. Students left the school on Thursday 7th April, returning Tuesday 12th April.
Whilst students were in Valencia, they had training sessions led by Valencia’s youth coaches. Students were treated to being able to watch the Valencia first team training, had a guided tour of the Mestalla Stadium, and were later able to watch the Valencia vs Sevilla La Liga fixture. Valencia won the match 2-1 with an injury time winner from star striker Negredo.
Students played matches against local opposition, with the Broadland girls team playing a match against the Valencia girls team. Whilst results were not good for our teams, the students all learnt something from the fixtures, and had an enjoyable experience.
Away from the football, students spent two evenings at Heron City, socialising, eating at the restaurant and participating in the bowling tournament, which Joshua Clow won.
Students spent their final afternoon at the Oceanografic at the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia. The Oceanografic includes Europe’s largest aquarium, dolphin shows, and various exhibits from across the globe.
The PE Department were delighted with how the students conducted themselves throughout the trip. Mr Shreeve described the students as being a credit to the school.
