Over the last 3 weeks, a group of 13 students from Vigo, Spain have been spending time at Broadland High School as part of the Vigo Municipal Educational Program. The program allows over 400 students from the Vigo area to visit England, as part of a grant from Vigo Town Council. The idea behind the visit is to allow students to experience a different schooling system, culture, and to improve their level of English.
The students were paired up with Year 11 students, and spent their time in lessons, seeing what life is like in an English school. The students from Spain also spent time visiting places in the local area, and invited our students to join in with their activities during evenings and at the weekend.
Broadland students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, making our visiting students feel welcome in the school. They were great ambassadors for the school, and the local area. Many of the Broadland students taking part have made good friends as part of the experience and will keep in contact with their new Spanish friends for years to come. We hope that our visiting students also enjoyed their experience at the school.
