Consultation surrounding Post-16 Transport costs

Norfolk County Council are asking for parent comments surrounding a set of budget saving proposals which could affect school leavers during the next three years.

The consultation includes a proposal to reduce the subsidy for Post 16 transport.    If approved the current subsidised travel passes for students attending all post 16 provision would increase from £468 per year to between £800 and £850 per year, with the rate for low income families rising from £51 to between £600 and £638.

County Councillors will consider the proposals further in January in the light of the views expressed by parents and service providers. A final decision regarding the budget will be made in February.
