French Twinning and Exchange

Posted on Mar 1, 2016

Calling all Parents….Do you want a chance to help your sons and daughters to practise some French speaking, and for the family to meet new friends at the same time?

Wroxham, Hoveton, Belaugh, and the surrounding villages have a Twinning Association, and we are twinned with two lovely villages on the River Loire between Angers and Nantes. Each year we take it in turns to visit each other with a group of families. Between 35 and 50 people make the trip and are put up in family homes in the opposing country.

It is a delightful, informal and very sociable visit, although we do organise a programme of events to entertain our guests while they are here. We try to keep the work load on hosts to a minimum, with the visit taking place over a long weekend from Thursday night to early Tuesday morning.

This year it is the turn of the French to visit us and they are coming over from 18th to 23rd August 2016. Many of them speak English but it is an ideal opportunity to practise some French, whatever your level of expertise, and to make new friends from another country.
