On-site Provision for Vulnerable Students / Children of Critical Workers

Children with at least one parent or carer who is a critical worker can come into Broadland High if required, but parents and carers should keep their children at home if they can.

On Friday 8th January the Government updated its advice on the attendance of key worker children at school during this current lockdown. This came as a result of a nationally noticeable increase in parents requiring a school place compared to the Spring lockdown alongside the continued rise in covid cases.
Whilst we need to ensure that we can accommodate the children of critical workers in school, the guidance now asks that ‘all children who can stay at home, should stay at home.‘
With this in mind, could I ask you to only send your child into school if it is necessary, in order for you to be able to carry out your essential roles. It is certainly our desire to accommodate parents’ needs as much as possible whilst keeping children and staff in school safe but I can assure you, that if you are a critical worker, we will not turn down your request if you are unable to keep your child at home.

If you wish to request a place for your child(ren) or discuss it further please contact: [email protected]  or call the main academy office 01603 782715
