As we approach the final half term for year 11 please note the following information for parents about revision.
The English department will be running English Literature active revision workshops for year 11 students during the Easter holiday this year. The workshops will cover prose, poetry and drama and will run from 10am-1.00 pm on Thursday 11th April. The English literature exams are 20th and 23rd May, so there is very little time after Easter for further revision, which is why we expect all students taking English Literature to attend.
Mrs Statham will also be running a holiday revision session for French (listening and reading) on 2nd April from 9:00 -12:00.
These workshops are a vital opportunity which your child should seize if at all possible, and with teachers giving their time freely during the holidays we need to get numbers of students attending in advance so we can plan effectively. Students will be given a letter with permission slip to return so please complete it and return it to the main school office as soon as possible.
I would also like to draw your attention to the fact that materials from the parents’ revision evening which had to be cancelled are now available on the website in Parents-Downloads. These include presentions from English and history and tips for revision in RE and languages.
Finally, there are a large number of after school revision and catch up sessions taking place over the next term and a half for year 11. We have put these together in a single document you can access at Parents-Downloads.
