On Wednesday 16th March 2016 we took a group of Year 7 and 8 students to experience Kidzania in London. It was a long day with a lot of travelling, but the students were a pleasure to be with and represented Broadland High School impeccably. For some students this was their first trip outside Norfolk.
Kidzania is a worldwide organisation that allows students to try out and experience a varying amount of careers. The students earn Kidzos (money) for the jobs they do whilst there and have the opportunity to open a Kidzania bank account to spend their earnings through.
The aim of the visit was to trial jobs to build long term aspirations and appreciate the cycle of working hard to receive monetary rewards.
Our students turned their hands to many differing careers that day. We had midwives, motor mechanics, supermarket staff, journalists, police officers and even an airline pilot to name just a few.
Kidzania is open to the public and I would thoroughly recommend a visit for any children aged between 4 and 14.
